As President Donald Trump takes another vacation, this time for over 2 weeks, Attorney General Jeff Sessions sets his sights on the media and the 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution.

For a refresher, here’s what the 1st Amendment actually says:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Since Trump’s inauguration, his poor relationship with the press, particularly his charges of “fake news” sources “targeting” him, have been well documented.

The Attorney General, for his part, has been on his own vendetta against the 1st Amendment and its freedom of the press protections, today pledging a crackdown on leakers within and without the White House.

More to come….
