It’s Terrorism No Matter Who Does It

It's Terrorism No Matter Who Does ItClick To TweetIn an age where the language has been bastardized in hundreds of different ways, the truth still remains: it’s terrorism no matter who does it.

Whether it’s an 8-year-old girl clutching a doll in a Syrian town shot in the neck and left to bleed to death – or the droning murder of her teenage brother by order of the previous president – or the recent attacks in Nice, Paris and London, the fact remains that the West is every bit as good at terrorist acts as anyone given that horrific title.

Whether the attacks are followed by pride, indifference or falsehood, they are all still acts of terror.

From Wikipedia:

The U.S. Code of Federal Regulations defines terrorism as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives”

It’s Terrorism No Matter Who Does It.

Did a couple of kids (among many women and children who have brutally perished at the hands of the US armed forces) have to die for that? Here in the west, we commemorate 9/11 as an unprecedented act of terror, and while I mean not to diminish that heinous attack, I also refuse to downplay the loss of many in far away lands that the mainstream media wishes we would just shut up about and that our governments perpetrate in our name. These are also “acts of terror” thrust upon a civilian population, regardless of what They tell you. You are free to do what They tell you. It’s Terrorism No Matter Who Does it.

We are told daily what terrorists do “in the name of Allah.” But how many 9/11s have to take place in our name before we get sick of it? Terrorism knows no skin colour, nationality, sexual orientation or religion. It only knows hate and indifference. It’s terrorism no matter who does it.
